In response to the devastating flash floods that struck Northern Bangladesh, we have taken immediate action to provide crucial humanitarian aid to over 10,000 people in the hardest-hit regions of Kurigram and Sylhet. The floods, worsened by heavy rainfall, have left thousands of families in desperate need. Our team of local volunteers and staff quickly mobilised to distribute emergency food packs, essential medicine, and clean drinking water to 1,000 families, with a focus on supporting vulnerable groups like orphans, women, and people with disabilities.
Our relief packages, designed to sustain families for a full month, included staples such as rice, lentils, and oil, along with specialized supplies like baby food and water purification tablets to ensure access to safe drinking water. We also provided dry food items like flattened rice and high-protein biscuits to address both immediate and longer-term nutritional needs. This effort builds on our recent work in Bangladesh, including providing relief during a heat wave and previous flood responses. By acting swiftly, we are committed to restoring hope and dignity to those affected by this disaster and continuing our mission to support communities in their most vulnerable moments.
